Joining our school

We appreciate that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions parents have to make and we want to be able to help make this a straightforward process for you.

Applying for a place during the school year (In-Year Applications)

To apply for a place at Hunts Grove Primary Academy other than at the specified dates of entry, parents should contact the school to obtain the In-Year Admission Form. The In-Year Admission Form should be completed and returned directly to the school together with proof of address and a copy of your child(ren)'s birth certificate or passport.

Where there are more applicants than places available, the school will maintain a waiting list according to the oversubscription criteria detailed in the school's admission arrangements without regard to the date the application was received or when a child's name was added to the waiting list.

Positions on waiting lists may go down as well as up. This is because other children might be added to the waiting list who have a greater priority for a place against the school's admission criteria; for example, when new families move into the area or when other familities who had not previously named Hunts Grove as a preference, ask to go on the waiting list after the initial allocations date.

Admission arrangements for September 2025/26

In accordance with the School Admissions Code 2021, the Greenshaw Learning Trust has consulted on the admissions arrangements for Hunts Grove for entry in September 2025/26. The consultation closed on 17th January 2024.

The main changes are:

Inclusion of a Supplementary Form for Exceptional Medical and Social applications
Inclusion of a priority for Children of Staff
Alignment in the order of priorities within the admission arrangements to mirror all other Greenshaw Learning Trust schools
Amendment of the criteria definitions in line with all Greenshaw Learning Trust schools

CONSULTATION NOTICE

Consultation on the proposed admission arrangements for entry in September 2026/27.

In accordance with the School Admissions Code 2021, the Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT) are consulting on the admission arrangements (for all schools within the Trust) for entry in September 2026/27.

The consultation will be held between Thursday 7^th November and Thursday 19^th December 2024.
